How to become a stove installer
We offer the HETAS stove installer course.
This is the only way to become a HETAS stove installer if you have no previous experience.
If you do have previous experience – for example if you are a gas engineer, have worked in the stove industry previously carrying out installations and have evidence of that, are a member of an approved chimney sweeping association etc – you simply have to complete the H003DS.
Learning about building regulation requirements for installation of wood burners and chimneys, including things like rules around hearths and chimney sizing. It includes theory elements, practical elements and assessment. This course, upon successful completion, allows you to register with HETAS as a dry installer. You will be registered to sign off installations of dry solid fuel appliances like stoves, and flexible liners inside existing chimneys, twin wall chimney systems and more.

Parking at our centre when attending a HETAS stove installer course:
There is plenty of free parking on site, though the later you arrive the fewer spaces there will be. Please park respectfully. For best availability arrive by 08:30. The main service road in to the estate – Vincent Avenue – has plenty of spaces and is also free.
Overnight accommodation:
For overnight accommodation when attending our HETAS stove installer course, the closest place is Travelodge Shenley Lodge
It is a 1 to 3 minute drive to our training centre from the accommodation. Prices if booked in advance can be really cheap – as cheap as £30 per night.
Please be aware – the hotel doesn’t offer breakfast. There are plenty of hotels in Milton Keynes that serve breakfast with varying levels of luxury. Almost all within 10 minutes of our centre.
